My wishes for nurturing the occupational science community:

  • Making more links with schools – encourage an occupational way of thinking
  • Interdisciplinary dialogue
  • To form groups al over the countrie(s)
    • Speaking about OS
    • Developing ideas how to put OS into practice
    • And putting themselves into action
  • Keep on doing these meetings
  • Promoting mettings like this in other countries, maybe in the south (global south)
  • To connect each countries and continent’s occupational science community Europe (e.g. USA, Canada, Australia & NZ, Japan etc.)
  • Continue to talk about our diversity in Europe – find ways to share knowledge even if we don’t share the same language
  • This conference has nurtured my interest in taking part in future Think Tanks. I also recognized that I am able to contribute in this community.
  • Opportunities for students to learn about OS
  • Internships for BSc/MSc students to learn from OS researchers who function as mentors and offering chances to learn for persons not yet enrolled in a PhD –program
  • A way to share study projects worldwide (sort of listing on a platform accessible for persons involved with OS/OT/ other fields as registered members of a group)
  • Going further with the “critical two” making OS more prominent in Germany, this conference was a great first step
  • Constructive discussions
  • More interdisciplinary prospective
  • Friendly critical dialogue
  • Methodologies in OS
  • possibilities for Phd students to share knowledge, discuss ideas and to learn together (e.g. forum/platform for discussion and doctoral courses, if possible online – just like the great course offered at Karolinksa Institutet) maybe online discussion group chaired by a senior OS researcher?
  • Continuing cross-discipline discussions/ collaborations
  • Ensuring respectful consideration of new or challenging ideas (inclusion within our scholarship)
  • A combined degree in OT & Occupational Science
  • Multidisciplinary/ multi agency OS research across nations
  • Making OS more accessible & explicit in practice

My ideas for the next OSE conference:

  • Repeat the active and participatory methods we had on some sessions like 1.5. and 3.5.
  • Welcoming not only the several countries but also the several professions within the meeting
  • ONE country presents specific important topics then discuss in the moment?
  • Social inclusion citizenship
  • research methodology regarding OS
  • more livestreaming & creative ways of being inclusive of people who can’t afford to come to conference
  • Activities in the program to do something e.g. walking, painting, knitting – or a relaxation/chill out
  • bridging the gap between science and OT practice – creating ideas for practice
  • Kinderbetreuung
  • more vegetables to eat
  • tandem sessions were great — more of those can’t do any harm 🙂
  • bring up more topics on dev. as occupational being – child, early developmental level, dementia, intellectual disability as well as facilitating dev. of sense of self and identities to enhance activity and participation
  • more exaples of use of OC in practice
  • round table discussions
  • more tandem presentations
  • presentations of participatory research
  • continuing diversity of clusters of papers (themes)
  • multidisciplinary perspectives
